Update to Board Boycott
Yeshiva World posts a welcome update to this post:
Last week, Yeshivaworld posted an article from the Times Herald Record regarding members of the Monticello School Board who decided to boycott a School Board Event which was scheduled for the first night of Chanukah.I'm pleased to see that the district took into account the sensitivities of the board members who felt they were being unduly inconvenienced by the scheduling conflict.
Well now, the Record is reporting that the meeting has been cancelled after receiving “feedback” from other schools
One board member told the Record that “it was inappropriate to hold a meeting during the family-rich first night”.
BOCES Superintendent Martin Handler said that this was a scheduling mistake, and that it didn’t occur to anybody that the evening of December 4th was significant.
The meeting will be held sometime in January.
