Wow. Steven I. puts up a post that meticulously trashes Jewish Week "editor" Gary Rosenblatt for his miserable coverage of the WJC affair. It's so good, he makes me look like a total hack when it comes to one of my favorite hobbies of Gary Rosenblatt-bashing. Check it out.

what is it with gary rosenblatt and the j-blogosphere. are you guys all just a little jealous because your little club doesnt have the circulation he does? give it up. his paper is the most widely circulated jewish paper out there. thats b/c people like his stuff. get over it.

Um..yeah, that's it. What I haven't yet figured out is why we all (usually) leave other pesky little papers with large circulations like the NY Times, the Forward and Hamodia alone. Weird, no? Also, it's indisputable that people like his stuff because he prints sensational lies and unfounded allegations. The National Enquirer has great circulation numbers too.

Bullshit. The Jw is so widely circulated b/c if you're a UJC donor, they send it to you for free. They do have plenty of subscribers but by and large, they give the damn newspaper away.
Their circulation numbers are all bogus. I cancelled my paper 6 months ago and they keep sending it to me every week (and it goes straight in the trash),
The JW is not the largest J paper out there.
Their circ is steadily declining, either rbecause for many years it was a BS number, or bc fewer ppl are actaully reading it.
Their audit statement only gives them about an 80,000, down from the 91,000 they claimed a few years ago.
Last but not least, the JW is one of the better written and put-together Jewish papers out there. I usually dont agree with the politics, but I see many Jewish pubs and there is far worse than the JW in terms of layout, article topics, writting style, grammer, you name it.. and no I'm even thinking of the JP, Hamodia and the Yated...
The Jewish Week is an ignorant agenda driven rag thanks to its muckracking scandal mongering eidtor hell bent on sensationalism.
