Here They Come...

In a follow-up to these two posts, I guess Jews for Jesus really is stepping up its New york Metro area proselytizing campaign. This bus, packed to the gills with what I have to assume were missionaries, pulled up next to me at a red light while I was on my way to work in the city.

In other J4J news, the Metropolitan Transit Authority has ordered the group to cease-and-desist from using a logo on t-shirts that too similarly mimics the MTA logo.

I've seen them all over the subway and the streets. They're certainly trying...my patience.

When i went to the Yankees/Mets game last sunday night at the stadium they were all over the place before and after the game handing out stuff to people. There was also a full page ad in the New York Post by them yesterday.

Ugh. http://www.jewsforjudaism.org/ needs to rent a billboard on a flatbed truck to follow them around or something!

Am I the only person not to run into these guys? And I go through Penn Station twice a day too. Not really sure what I'd do anyhow if they approached me - I'm not really interested in debating them, and I get the idea that saying nasty things to them is unlikely to be productive, even if I was the type to do that.

I got a call at home from J4J dinnertime Sunday. Thankfully we were out. Shouldn't proselytizing be against the "Do not call" regulations?

Brooklyn, NY - Ruling From Court in Satmar Case
Brooklyn, NY - In the bitter 7 year long battle for the leadership of the Satmar Chasidim, the NY State Supreme Court Appellate dismissed 4-0 the decision from up-state former Justice Rosenwasser, and the transfer of some property's in Orange County was illegal, and they also left 3-1 the ruling from former Supreme Court Judge Melvin S. Barasch. Leaving the younger son of the late grand Rabbi Moses Teitelbaum - Rabbi Zalman - In Control of the Satmar Hasidic Sect.

There were 4 men from the group in their green T-shirts stationed on Main St. (right in Ezzie's neighborhood) on Monday. I took one of their pamphlets so that I could throw it out, leaving one less for their distribution.

Heh. I love how in the article about the MTA logo thing the Jews for Jesus talk about "pounds of flesh" :-P .

Today while i was getting on the subway, there was a JFJ girl dressed up like a clown signing and dancing and handing out these rediculous flyers asking if you want to hear a Jewish joke. Most of the fliers were on the floor or in the garbage. The subway station at 71st and continental is a huge station for Jews of all affiliation and i am hoping they did not get anyone today
