A Word To The Wise
Don't go to the donut store to buy fresh donuts for break fast when you're actually fasting. A ridiculous surplus of donuts sitting on your kitchen counter may ensue.
Looking on the bright side: Only two hours left.

I'm losin it. I HATE fast days. Especially when I can't go to work to distract me. I have no excuse not to sit home and help with my daughter.
For me, the key to a relatively easy fast is drinks LOTS of fluids for several days (not just one) before. I did that this time and the fast is going easily. I actually got some work done, in addition to attending a mussar lecture this afternoon. I fell asleep during the lecture, but that is more sleep apnea and less fasting.
I didn't buy donuts, but I did forget to put the fancy cake out of sight. I mostly deal with it by staying out of the dining room.

Um, do you think I'm one to look to for sympathy on the fact that you have to help your wife with the kids? You might be at the wrong blog for that.
Good point. Thanks. I'll go find another blog to complain at.
but i do agree w/out work to distract...
a crocheted blanket has mostly been finished, this last hour (or so) is the torture part.
here's a second hint: don't start planning a new kitchen while fasting. or at least it made me really really hungry.
M4, I guess your method of getting through the last couple of hours is blogging?
Krum, how'd ya guess?
Pathetic!! :-)
You're one to talk...
I didn't do that, I just bought too many because I had "big eyes", as my grandmother would have put it.
Mom, I'm surprised at you. Never do any food shopping during a fast. I would have thought you'd picked up on that by now....
I once ended up with everything I needed to make this crazy fruit trifle recipe I found online. Including mandarin orange liqueur. Guess what? Been 4+ years, and the stupid liqueur is still sitting there. I'll swap you for a donut. :-)
Sure, I have 3 dozen to spare!
