Great Post

I like this post a lot. Very well put. The behavior Shtender addresses in his post really needs to be worked on.

Although not Shtender's intended point, an additional issue is raised by this behavior; the principle of "Mechzi K'yuhara."

This phrase is often used in the Gemara to describe someone who is flaunting his religion at an inappropriate time or in an inapropriate manner.

Akin to citing Talmudic sources on a blog, I guess.

Many respected Rabbonim would memorize their learning for this purpose (i.e., it obviates the need to carry around the sefer). But hopefully, they only used that memory storage when not on babysitting duty.

it's a good post. Though I wonder why he didn't say something to the man as well. Even just reiterating the first person's comment that he restrain his kids, after the behavior continued. Without a lecture.

Maybe being told by someone wearing a kippah would have had a greater effect on the man.
