"PS22 Chorus sings awesome Chanukah song with "L'il Eminem""

TTC points us to this rendition, by the Public School choir of PS22 in Staten Island, of "Esa Einai" - complete with a rapping finish by "Dritan, or our very own "L'il Eminem!":

The Christmas tree and Santa suit are a nice touch. That's what passes for multiculturalism these days.

What a great video, I think this should be played at the board meeting tonight,

1. Far more interesting than the fighting

2.These children can teach us all a lesson.

Good for the music teacher for teaching these children there is a great big world, and we need to appreciate eachother. Thank you orthomom.

Don't let the ACLU find out about this. :) The Hebrew is so clear that the Hashem is unmistakable, not to say anything of where the lyrics come from.

I could do without the rapping at the end, but the singing was quite nice.

I didn't get it from TTC or OrthoMom, and I posted it before I knew they had it. There was no breach of ettiquette. I didn't take it from them.

Dov Bear-The ACLU likes to sue when religion is instituted in schools. Today, a rendition of Silent Night is a risky proposition. Why Tehillim is any different is beyond me. (I guess I agree there is a war on Christmas).

Okay,

A very cute video by a bunch of CHILDREN, is being taken so over the top it is silly. Stop already, Orthomom posted this because it was cute, nothing more nothing less. It also shows the city schools are teaching the children about all holidays, and to obviously accept all holidays, Why is it such an issue. No wonder nothing gets settled.

That really is a great clip!

Now if you can only get one of your local yeshivas to sing "Jingle Bells"!

Hmmmm... I don't think THAT will ever happen!

DovBear,

If you don't like his comments on your site why don't you just ban him like you do to others?

Don't think that can ever happen -- the black hat yeshivos around here barley teach English to their students. As a matter of fact, I bet they can't even speak Hebrew as well either!

this video is adorable! even my kids think it's great with my youngest singing along with gusto because,"i sing this in gan!"

What I don't get is: Why is this a Hannukah song?
It's just a song with words from Tehillim.
Also, Jingle Bells is not a Christmas song.
It's about riding a sleigh through snow.

The video was cute, though.
Anyone have a clue what "Lil Eminem" was saying??

IT'S NOT. I HAD THEM SING IT "IN HONOR OF CHANUKAH".

Can anyone tell what the boy at the end is saying?

SURE! DRITAN WROTE HIS THE RAP HIMSELF.

GOES AS FOLLOWS:

"HANUKKAH IS COMIN'! LIGHTS ARE ON!
FEASTIN' ON YOUR LATKES UNTIL IT'S ALL GONE
LATKE LATKE LATKES! IT'S THE BOMB!
ADD A LITTLE APPLE SAUCE OR CREAM ONION!

HANUKKAH'S THE BEST IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN
FOOD PRESENTS GIFTS -- WHAT MORE DO YOU NEED?
CANDLES ARE ON. MENORAH'S ARE SHIMM'RIN'
DON'T LOOK NOW BUT THE PARTY'S BEGINNIN'

HANUKKAH HANUKKAH ALL THE TIME
WE'S ARE THE PEOPLE THAT BUST A RHYME!"

THERE YOU HAVE IT! ANYWAY AS YOU CAN SEE, THEIR HEBREW IS BETTER THAN THEIR ENGLISH....

ANYWAY, THANKS TO ORTHOMOM, GOT A REAL KICK OUT OF FINDING MY STUDENTS ON YOUR SITE! CHECK OUT MY CHORUS' WEBSITE AT WWW.PS22CHORUS.BLOGSPOT.COM IF YOU WANT TO SEE MORE BY THESE AMAZING KIDS!
