Take Back the Color Orange?

I was talking to a friend today, and he was complaining about the appropriation of the color orange by the anti-disengagement camp. Apparently, every time he wears any one of the many orange garments in his wardrobe, he is the butt of comments and jokes about wearing his political heart on his sleeve. Or his tie. Or his eyeglasses. Of course, he is not trying to make any political point at all, he is simply a clotheshorse. He said he would like to start his own campaign, the movement to take back the color orange. The real question is, do all these fashion-forward types need to find themselves a new color? Or will the color orange revert to being only a matter of making a fashion statement, instead of a political one? I guess only time will tell.
Until then, if you dare to wear orange, be prepared for some to interpret it as "fanatical" instead of "fashionable".

I think blue is still comfortably apolitical. Feel free to wear your jeans.

What a difficult heading I picked. "Only the truth" Do you realize how difficult it is to dig out the truth from the mountain of lies that the truth is buried underneath. I read the comments on President George Bush. They call him a liar. So what? Bill Clinton was also a liar " I did not have sex with that woman" Does anybody tell the truth anymore. I know a rabbi ( no names mentioned) who does not know what the word truth is. Thats ok, there are plenty of preists who also dont know what truth means. One of the names of God is " Emes" which means truth. That is probably the ultimate truth. That there is a God . The world belongs to someone. The world has an owner.

Wow. For American's to say that wearing a color (as a political statement) is "fanatical", to avoid getting kicked out of your home, livelihood destroyed, and your community eradicated is very impressive.

I guess its in line with the Knesset gaurds who refused entry to Indian diplomats a few weeks back, who had the misfortune of not knowing that orange is a "fanatical" color.

Personally, I think that Orange as a political statement in Israel will be around for years to come. I've been to weddings where the chupa has orange streamers at the edges, seen flower boquets with orange around them...My house is covered with orange flags...kids all have orange t-shirts.

An orange a day keeps the bulldozer away?

Boohoo, Gush Katif stole our color.

This is MUCH funnier:

Arab party takes right-wing to court, says color orange 'belongs' to them.
