MoChassid's Music

The great Five Towns blogger MoChassid has put out an awesome CD in memory of his father. The CD, titled U'Shmuel B'Korei Sh'mo is a compilation of tunes by some of my favorite Jewish artists, including Avrohom Rosenblum, Chaim Dovid, Shlomo Katz and Yosef Karduner. It has already established itself as the clear winner in the contest for the OrthoFamily's soundtrack of choice for Sukkot 5767 - it has basically been playing nonstop 'round here. My personal favorite is Yom Shabason by Aron Razel, while OrthoDad keeps hitting repeat on Track 1 (The Ganz'e Tance by Chaim Dovid & Shlomo Katz).

Click here for info and clips of all the songs.

To sum up, in the words of my oldest: This CD rocks.

Ortho - I couldnt agree more, Aron Razel's Yom Shabason is excellent! Anything Razel does is gold in my mind. I also liked the Avraham Rosenblum song as well as both Chaim Dovid tracks. The CD was a great achievement.

I love MOc. He done good

Well, with Yehuda Glantz living 10 doors away from me, this is not bad but not that good either.

are shlomo and eitan katz brothers?

Shlomo and Eitan are brothers. They put out a fabulous album a few years ago called buglal avos. A must have.

These days they are performing and recording separately (Shlomo is in Israel and Eitan in Baltimore for now)

Yehudah Glantz is a great talent but an acquired taste that I haven't yet aquired. Eilu v'Eilu

Well, they keep bringing him over to the States for performances so he must be doing something right. Still can't get him to daven for the amud, though.

As Yehuda is Argentinian, (a) he is Ashkenazi; and (b) it's his Latin beat that is attractive. Btw, his married son was bitten by a posionous snake while entering Lebanon this summer (he's in the Tzanchanim) and was miraculously saved as at first no one could figure out why the kid was reacting as he did.
