Slight Overreaction

This story is really nuts. Vaguely reminiscent of this story that has been dominating the news in my area.

These storys are being portrayed as vigilantism, but who say's there's something wrong with that? I understand not when the person isn't guilty, but show me proof that the guys in both story's were really innocently walking or driving down the street.

Agreed. Which is what I expected the article to say. Instead, the people who shot at the car did not mention terrorism. They accused this man of being a suspected thief.
